How is the telecommunications market evolving today, particularly in the context of FTTx infrastructures, and what are the key drivers behind this transformation?
Our industry is investing billions to build future-proof FTTH networks. The next step is the transition from 'homes passed' to 'homes activated'. With more than 23 million households still relying on copper DSL, especially in Germany, there is still a huge potential.
What are the main challenges that operators and technology providers are facing today when deploying and maintaining reliable and efficient networks?
Firstly, the economic landscape is tightening, making solid financing more challenging. Secondly, traditional underground works are quite expensive. While less invasive methods like "trenching" are faster and cheaper, some local municipalities still insist on traditional deep-dig methods to protect existing road surfaces. Lastly, approval processes remain fragmented across local authorities.
In this context, how important is it to rely on solutions that combine reliability, ease of installation and long-term performance?
This combination is vital. Reliability is now synonymous with intelligent control by using AI-powered predictive maintenance. There is a big potential for the network operators as well as for technology vendors.
Sustainability is increasingly influencing infrastructure development. How is this changing the expectations of the market and the approach of industry players?
Sustainability is no longer a buzzword; it’s a core driver. We are moving from theory to real-world application. Efficiency is the highest form of sustainability: preventing costly damages during civil engineering and extending infrastructure lifespan.
What role do innovation and material development play in enabling more efficient and future-ready telecom infrastructures?
Innovation and material development are the primary engines for this transformation. They are the 'heartpiece' of connectivity. At ANGA COM 2026, we demonstrate that new materials and smart technical solutions are what turn a simple infrastructure into a highly efficient, future-proof network.
ANGA COM is a key meeting point for the broadband industry. What role does the event play today in supporting the development of the telecommunications ecosystem, and what makes it a valuable platform for companies to present innovative and sustainable solutions?
With 440 exhibitors from 44 countries, ANGA COM serves as the technological heart of the broadband ecosystem. We provide a unique market place and stage for the latest innovations all of Europe. For example, this year our new "ANGA COM Showroom In-house Network" offers a compact experience of how to manage the rollout challenge toward real FTTH. Once again from 19 to 21 May we expect more than 20,000 industry experts from 80 countries.
Enhancing Telecom Networks
We will be present at ANGA COM 2026, showcasing an innovative range of reliable, high-performance and low-emission FTTx connectors for next-generation telecommunications networks.
Building on our long-standing expertise in connection technologies, we develop solutions focused on installation efficiency, durability and sustainability, supported by the advanced technopolymer injection molding capabilities of Camozzi Technopolymers.
